Roles and Responsibilities:

Job Title: Junior Accountant

Location: Fairfax, Va

Are you a self-motivated individual who enjoys multitasking in a rapidly evolving and challenging environment? Do you have strong oral and written communication skills? What you will be doing:

  • Administration of general bookkeeping and monthly payables processes.
  • Manage the workflow of accounts payable from receipt to distribution.
  • Perform vendor management and compliance.
  • Validate the expenditure against hours reporting and contract.
  • Assist with pulling and compiling various reports and financial data.
  • Work with staff and partners to collect and classify credit card expenses.
  • Ensure expense recognition and job costing in appropriate period.
  • Work with corporate team on other accounting related projects and administrative duties.

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: DC Metro Area

Are you a self-motivated accounting professional with experience in Federal government financial analysis and project management? Do you have strong communication and interpersonal skills? If so, this job may be a good fit for you.

We are looking for a Senior Federal Accountant in the DC Metro Area. You will provide functional, technical, and/or administrative analytical support as directed  to assist with meeting client needs and objectives.

What you will be doing:

  • Gathering and analyzing PP&E accounting data from multiple systems, reports, personnel, and other available sources

  • Reviewing PP&E procurement and program management documentation to determine proper accounting treatment, including Other Direct Cost (ODC) determinations

  • Developing and maintaining database and analytical tools using Microsoft Access and Excel

  • Analyzing full life cycle of PP&E assets, reviewing and maintaining records in the asset management system, and prepare monthly adjusting entries and quarterly accrual entries, with required supporting documentation

  • Reviewing and developing policies, procedures, position papers, and other documentations to ensure agency compliance with Federal financial reporting and audit requirements, the USSGL, and federal accounting guidance as issued by the FASAB

  • Preparing, compiling, or reviewing responses to external and internal audit requests
  • Reviewing deliverables for quality assurance in line with project requirements

Experience and skills you need to have:

  • Strong background in Federal accounting or financial management.

  • Ability to comfortably work with high-level Federal executives.

  • Superior analytical capabilities and critical thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated problem solving ability with minimal oversight.

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills used in client management and staff guidance, technical instructions, and status reporting.

  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, pivot, and think strategically.

Education and qualities we’re looking for:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Accounting, CPA or CGFM Certification preferred
  • 7+ years Federal Financial Accounting with experience in Property, Plant and Equipment accounting
  • Demonstrated experience supporting a government agency to successfully attain an unqualified audit opinion or reduce material weaknesses related to PP&E business processes
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Access, with advanced proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, lookup functions, etc.)
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, pivot, and think strategically
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team members and client leadership

Job Title: IT Audit Readiness Consultant

Summary of Job Description:

We currently have an opening for an Audit Readiness Consultant in the DC Metro area. In this role, you’ll directly support our client with audit readiness, remediation, and corrective action implementation.

What you will be doing:

  • Performing tests of internal controls over financial systems.
  • Developing corrective action plans (CAPs) for identified control weaknesses in conformance with FISCAM and OMB Circular A-123, Management’s Responsibility for Internal Control.
  • Documenting business and systems processes to include key controls over financial reporting and systems operations
  • Monitoring and reporting the status of corrective action plans for identified control weaknesses.
  • Attending, facilitating, coordinating, or leading meetings between clients and the Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) directorate and client Demonstrating proper accounting techniques.
  • Interfacing and communicate with clients to build and maintain relationships and communicate task status for assigned areas.

  • Well-established DoD IT auditor, CISA certified.
  • Threeto six years of IT Auditing, systems accounting or OMB Circular A-123 documentation and/or testing experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of DoD FIAR requirements.
  • Involvement in IT/systems audit process (identifying control objectives, developing test plans, performing testing, documenting test results, submitting and implementing CAPs)
  • Experience with FISCAM and conducting OMB Circular A-123 internal control assessments for financial reporting, financial systems, and operations.
  • Experience with DoD Financial statements and associated reconciliations, testing, etc.
